REVIEW

Virgin Games

Virgin Games was the online casino for the Branson brand but was sold to Gamesys of Jackpot Joy fame in 2012. The variety of games isn't as good as at BetVictor Casino or Paddy Power Games for example but where Virgin has an advantage over single-brand casinos like Lucky Nugget and 32Red is in the fact that they have a number of land-based slot games that will be familiar. There is also another site that is officially called Virgin Casino which is their US facing brand. In this review, we are dealing with the UK Virgin Games site.

Games like the uber-popular Cleopatra, Noah's Ark, Star Trek and Siberian Storm, all from IGT are indicative of the slots that you'll find at Virgin's casino along with a number of lesser-known (and quite frankly, not as good in my opinion) online-only games from Gamesys.

Oh yeah - I should also mention that Virgin uses a Flash (Instant Play) platform, so you don't have to download any software- in that sense it's like playing the Royal Panda slots range. It's all played from within the comfort of your favourite web browser. This is a big advantage although I must admit it can lead to a slightly less casino-y experience IMO.

OPERATIONS

You'd expect anything with the Virgin brand name to be trustworthy even if it is outsourced as it is with the casino and the customer experience at Virgin casino fits in well with that ethos. All casino cashouts are processed the next working day, there is no dreaded "Reverse Pending" time to sit through and the whole depositing and cashout process is very smooth.

Email support is generally pretty decent although I've never really needed to use it and I've been playing there most months since 2006.

Setting up to play Virgin casino is a breeze. Because there is no download required, you simply head to trhe registration page, sign up your details and add your deposit method. Then away you go. If you are new to online casinos there is no setup easier but one tip: always use your correct details and a proper email address as, at some point with ANY online casino, they will ask for ID (via email or post - up to you) which means scanning or photographing a passport and utility bill or something and sending it.

CONCLUSION

There's not much to dislike about Virgin Games although the range of slots on offer could be improved if it wants to compete with places like Paddy Power Casino and the aforementioned BetVictor. It's one of those casinos which in my experience, always seems to run smoothly and is pretty easy to set up and navigate to be fair but you would expect that from any online casino.

Virgin Games is definitely not the right casino for table players who prefer card games and roulette to slots though. Yes, it has those games and yes, they are OK, but there are better options out there: BetFred casino and 32Red spring to mind.

But for "casual" slots players, Virgin Games is a decent online casino for those familar slot games we all know and love from land-based casinos.
