Crown Of Egypt Slot
IGT's Crown Of Egypt slot game is based on their Multiway Xtra concept which puts it in the same mould as the Treasures Of Troy and White Orchid slots. This means you get 1024 paylines over 5 reels, each with 4 symbols and every symbol on every reel is a reel in it's own right, spinning independently.
The upshot of this is that you could potentially end up with the same symbol stacked across all 5 reels. There are two exceptions though: firstly, the wild symbol doesn't appear on Reel 1 so you won't ever be seeing 20 wilds! Secondly, there is no scatter symbol per se - well, there is, but it only appears on Reel 3 and 2 or more trigger the free spins feature.
One thing I do quite like about Multiway Xtra games is their ability to retrigger. I would guess that an extra scatter symbol or two - a Pyramid in the case of the Crown Of Egypt slots - is added to the third reel during the free spins because they seem more frequent as retriggers than they do as initial free spin triggers!
Another good thing about Crown Of Egypt compared to the other Multiway Xtra slots is that it seems to spin a little more slowly - at least, the online version of the slot does - I've not played this in a bricks and mortar casino before so I can't compare it but, alongside Treasures Of Troy for example, Crown Of Egypt seems to spin at "normal" speed. The fast spins in the latter always annoyed me a bit to be perfectly honest but this one is at least comparable to other online slots you tend to see now.
So overall, although Crown Of Egypt is only currently available to play online at a handful of casinos (see the panel to the right) right now, I rate it as the best of the Multiway Xtra slots that IGT have produced but it's still not really a game that I rush to my PC to play.
