There are two Star Trek slot games on the market: this one is from IGT and based on the movie while the WMS land-based one is one of a series. At present the IGT version is the only one at Slots [.org.uk] but I'll add the WMS ones soon.
The main difference between their Star Trek slot machines are the subjects: The WMS Star Trek is based on the original series while the IGT version is based on the 2010 motion picture. Both slots are very good and packed with features as it happens but for now, I'll concentrate on IGT's version.
If you are already familiar with slot games like Wolf Run then the way in which Star Trek triggers the feature is the same: a Bonus symbol on reels 2, 3 and 4 simultaneously. Because Star Trek has no less than 4 seperate features that can be triggered in this way, I have found that it happens relatively regularly. The Bonus symbol on reel 4 (of which there are 4!) decides which of the four features you get.
The four features in Star Trek are all free spin bonuses with different characteristics. My gut feel is that none of them offer a big advantage over the others but it's natural to have a favourite - one that seems to pay better - and mine is Uhura's Bonus with stacked symbols and extra scatters. The Scotty, Spock and Kirk Bonus rounds add in extra wilds, "spin til you win" and other nice little oddities but I won't spoil the surprise right now.
