BSkyB's Sky Betting and Gaming reported an increase in revenue to £ 155 million in the year ending June 30, 2013 which it attributes to the re-launch of its Sky Bet mobile betting app earlier this year which is reported to have taken over a million bets.
BSkyB group revenues grew 7% to £ 7.2 billion, while pre-tax profits reached £ 1.26 billion, a six% increase its says was driven by increased spending by households and business and the Sky Bet business.
The company said it recorded over a million active customers with half a million of those recruited in the past year.
Managing director Richard Flint said: We've had a really good year and a big driver for that growth is betting on mobile. We updated it in the spring to make it faster and include more Sky content.
